Click to preview or save an existing custom lesson or click the 'New MyLesson' button to create a new lesson and it to the list.

Add new lesson screen

This is the first screen you come to after clicking the 'New MyLesson' link. Type in a name for the lesson, select a course from the drop-down menu and enter a description to remind you of the content of the lesson. Click the 'Add' button to add the lesson to your My Lessons - you will go through to the lesson summary screen for the new lesson.

Lesson summary screen

The lesson summary is split into two sections - description and content:

Description

The description section shows the name and description assigned to the lesson and provides a link to preview or save the lesson for offline use. Clicking the link to save the lesson will create a file that has all of the necessary assets to present the lesson without needing to be online - useful if you want to present on a machine in a classroom that is not on the network.

You can edit the name and description of the lesson with the 'Edit' button, or remove the lesson entirely with the 'Remove' button. The 'Remove' button will not give you a chance to reconsider so make sure that you really do want to delete the lesson before you click it!

Content

The content section shows all the assets that you have added to the lesson. Click the name of an asset to preview the asset on its own. Click the 'Edit' button to add new pages to or delete existing pages from the lesson.

Select pages screen

The select pages screen is where you control the content that will be included in your lessons. The course title is shown at the top of the screen and a hierarchical list of all content for the course is shown down the left-hand side. All of the available content for the course is shown and you can add any of it to your lesson by ticking the checkboxes. Some of the content is grouped - you can add these assets individually or add a group all at the same time by ticking the checkbox for the top element of the group. Tick the very top checkbox to add all content for the course to your lesson. Clicking the 'Add pages' button will add any selected pages to your lesson and refresh the summary to show the added pages in the list on the right-hand side.

The list on the right shows the pages in the order they will be shown as a presentation. Any pages already in the lesson will be shown in bold on the page list on the left-hand side. To change the order, tick the checkbox for the page you want to move and use the 'Up' and 'Down' buttons to move it up and down the list. You can remove pages from the list by ticking their checkboxes and clicking the 'Remove' button.

Your changes are saved as you go along so just navigate to another section when you are done - your lesson will be saved exactly as you leave it.
